Very rare I read an autobiography, much enjoyed it. I shed tears, I rooted for her, and times I was so angry. Too many emotions…. She is a survivor that went through hell and back. She learned from her past and mistakes and never gave up on her dreams and herself. I’m listening to ‘River Deep-Mountain High’ and What’s Love God to Do with It, and they have a whole new meaning.

I'm not big on reading autobiographies, one exception being "I'm Your Huckleberry" which was quite enjoyable, but I wanted to read this one. In the first few pages, I thought I had made a mistake choosing this book, there was so much bragging and name-dropping. Then I realized: this is Tina's normal. She has been successful beyond imagination, so multiple Jaguars, multiple Rolls Royces, multiple residences, that's her lifestyle. In "I, Tina" we learned about her early life and her nightmare marriage. This time her story is all about success and awards and falling in love. Yes, falling in love for the first time in her life. So it's a love story. She discovered what love's got to do with it. The little skinny girl from Nutbush, Tennessee, became a superstar and had so many great adventures that no single book can hold them. I lost count of the number of times I went to YouTube to watch her videos while reading this book. Includes lots of photos. 4

I have felt an affinity toward Tina Turner since I was a little boy and LONG before ANY word of the abuse, I NEVER got a good feeling about him. I remember her on “The Cher Show” and on Cher’s variety special on ABC with Rod Stewart, singing “Hot Legs”, as the Acid Queen in “Tommy”, but not until “Private Dancer” did everything change. I was in the car either heading to work or on my way 🏡, when I heard this AMAZING song with these AMAZING vocals that I had NEVER heard before, but I ALREADY knew all of the lyrics. Naturally, they didn’t say who the artist was and over the next several days I listened for that song, and each time they didn’t say w by ho the artist was. Eventually I realized it was a cover of Al Green’s, “Let’s Stay Together”, so I went to Tower Records because they would know, only to find out it was Tina Turner. It was ONLY available as a 12” single, so I 💰 it and played it to death until one day I heard “What’s Love Got to do With It”. This time, I immediately knew who it was, bought the album and NEVER looked back, every album, every single, video, etc. This 📕 has just been an extension of the magic, the grace and gift that is Tina Turner…

Mrs. Turner has shown us that her endurance during her many years of adversity with Ike, her career immediately after leaving her first husband and her health issues have formed a woman that can face life and death with bravery and stoicism. Bravo! Her fight for life, both literally and figuratively, provided her with the zest to survive and be reborn into the performer and person she has become which I find admirable. Her love and appreciation for Erwin, her husband, and his immense love for her is wonderful. Loved her story!!!
