Especially in today’s uncertain economy, this book demystifies the many challenges of starting and running a small business. It organizes what you need to know and do into logical “buckets.” It helps you master the basics, from setting up financial systems to websites and social media – and then build on them. It’s an easy, enjoyable read with practical advice. It is very readable, with great examples of real business owners who have been featured on a unique reality show that most people don't know about, Small Business Revolution. The tools listed in the book have actually been applied to these businesses over the years with tangible results. I found a lot to like in this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend if you are serving small businesses or if you are running them. Barry (author) has both has been an entrepreneur/startup and worked for large Fortune 1000 companies. He has a great perspective on the Small Business -- both being one and serving one from his experiences. I really enjoyed him having a real-world perspective. He is very straightforward about real life examples throughout. I think if you are an established small business owner, you will still benefit from reading this and fine-tuning approaches or learning something new. And if you are a new small business owner or thinking of starting one, this really gives you great insight to get a head start on building your dream. My family has a 100+ year old company, and I sent a copy to my dad and brother too. I think there is just a lot to learn. Its also an easy read with lots of tangible examples, and I think that makes it easier to learn from vs. being too "theoretical". Highly recommend.
