This summer learning book for 2nd to 3rd grade is great. It has a map with stickers where kids can track their own progress. All of the answers are also included in the back of the book. The activities are very much like the homework from 2nd grade. I also like that we can set little rewards for her using the map to keep the motivation going.

My son said it was easy to understand and it was fun to keep earning his stickers to add to his map. he would get little price from me when finish each section so he loved that even more.

I've used Brain Quest workbooks for years, and the Summer version for at least the last 5. They're great: I'm not an elementary teacher, so I struggle with knowing what the kids "should" or shouldn't know yet. The "Brain Box" on each page anticipates misconceptions an fills in the gaps. There are some easier pages and some more advanced to meet the beeds of most kids. The sticker chart is also an incentive for my 2nd grader to keep going.

I thought I would be buying a summer work book that didn’t get used, but my daughter has been loving this one and doing it on her own without being asked. It is great for the age stated, not too easy, but not too difficult and has activities that are engaging. She also loves being able to put stickers along the map as she completes pages.

This is a great way to prevent learning loss over the summer. It helps that the pages are colorful and engaging.

Sky Woman's Power
Native American Folklore
Upon completion, add this sticker to your path on the map! Many native people call North America Turtle Island. Number each passage of the story in the correct sequence to learn why.
But Sky Woman had a special power. If she had even a small bit of earth, she could make more earth. Enough for everyone to live on.
Sky Woman placed the earth on a turtle's back. Then she used her powers to make more and more land- until the tiny bit of earth grew into what is now called North America!
One by one, each animal dove, but none of them reached the bottom. Finally, only the tiny muskrat was left.
However, there was no earth to be found! So Sky Woman asked all the animals to dive to the bottom of the ocean and bring some earth back up to the surface.
Once, a great flood covered the world. Sky Woman came down to Earth, but there was no place for her to rest-just miles and miles of water, all over.
The muskrat was gone all day and all night. But in the morning, his furry whiskers broke the surface of the water, and after a deep breath, he offered his paw filled with a tiny bit of earth!
