Whose truth is the lie? Stay up all night reading the sensational psychological thriller that has readers obsessed, from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends With Us.

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of the night her family was forever altered.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents could devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen's feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife's words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue loving her.

I am a massive Colleen Hoover fan and when I heard she had written something completely different I was sceptical that she could pull it off but I take my thought back as this woman has written something that I could never imagine and it’s pure genius. I have never read a book that makes we wake up in the middle of the night to check the end of my bed but Colleen has achieved this. I read this book with anxiety, fear and pure horror at what I was reading... and when you think you have worked out the plot BAM a bend in the road appears. I have not been able to put this book down, I will say this with pure confidence this is the best book I have read if 2018! Well done Colleen hats off to you you took a gamble and it paid off... if you want a book like nothing you have read before this is the one!!!

I wanted to be surprised by all the reviews on this book. Verity means truth. Here comes the spoiler.... Crew is plain old creepy but always kept in the background. What would have been a nail bitten ending was if he tipped the boat. If instead of his butter knife incident, he could have blamed it on the visitor. But no. This book is as "shocking" as the lables on orange juice are "vegetarian". At least here in the UK they feel the need to let buyers know that in this bottle of 100% organically squeezed oranges...that there is NOT a single drop of blood. That's nice of them, if I were a moron. Not to be so cruel to just one nation... we live in a time when the professionals feel it is necessary to print out instructions on a box of Pop-Tarts! If you enjoy reading books, but are ironically looking up on Google the vegetarianess of a box of fruit juice- then this book might just be your cuppa!

I don’t know where to start with this one.it got so many rave reviews from, mainly US, readers and book clubs, I thought I’d try it myself. I’ve never read a Colleen Hoover novel so had no preconceptions but I didn’t think it was either well written or interesting. The novel is supposed to be creepy and suspenseful but it’s just a bit silly. I don’t want to give any spoilers but there were just so many parts of this novel that were completely unbelievable. When was the last time you heard someone say they ate a letter they wanted to dispose of? Seriously? I hate romance novels as they don’t really reflect real life - they are far too convenient - woman meets handsome man, they fall in love and it’s all perfect - and they really undermine the idea that women can live happy fulfilled lives without being in a relationship at all times. Anyway, I hate romance and this is really just a romance with a slightly odd twist to it. I’m glad it s a short book as it meant I didn’t waste more than a day on it and it’s safe to say I won’t be reading any more “CoHo” books ever again!

Lowen Ashleigh is a successful writer that would be great but her known introverted tendencies keep that from happening. Lowen was fine with her status since it kept her provided for, until her estranged mother came back into her life and writing had to stop. Now she has to decide if she wants to take up a series another writer, Verity Crawford started before she was incapacitated in a car accident. This is not just any writer but a hugely success one that has had misery strike her personal life multiple times taking away two of her children and the writers ability to function. Knowing the choices were limited Lowen agrees and moves into the home that Verity shares with her son and husband Jeremy. It was Jeremy that brokered the deal connecting their lives and showing Lowen into the private domain where Verity wrote. Verity created deeply disturbed and troubled characters that Lowen felt came from a place she might struggle to recreate. When Lowen discovers not notes or a manuscript from Verity’s desk, but a journal of her life the question becomes is this literary research or an invasion of privacy. Verity is trapped in a bed with no supposed understanding of what is going on in the world around her, but Lowen questions how much Verity knows and comprehends along with the fact that there is a possibility Verity is faking the entire ordeal. As Lowen moves deeper and deeper into the mind of what could only be a psychopath, she starts to wonder if everything she believed about this family and these people is a huge deception or a trick of her own mind. The difficulty Lowen is facing is the fact that Jeremy is someone she is drawn to romantically and that could be the biggest mistake of them all, especially with his wife potentially in perfect health, maybe. This book is too terrifying to read and you are incapable of putting it down because you have to know what is behind the next door.

**SPOILERS HERE, but honest review*** Okay, so first I would like to say this: I’ve been trying to get back into reading and this was the book I chose to start with since I’ve heard so many good things about it. And honestly??? I couldn’t understand the hype and was not impressed at first. I was trying to wrap my mind about why this book is so talked about in such a positive manner when I got to about a bit more than the halfway point. I was like “eh the beginning was ok/cute, the middle was a lot of build up and cringe to get the suspense going, and then it got dark talking about the death of children and wanting to badly abort a fetus to the point of self destruction due to an obsession. It was uncomfortable to read through which made the sex scenes with Verity and Jeremy questionable and seem out of place. However, I think they were rightly placed with Lowen and Jeremy. I forced myself to push through the discomfort and keep reading and this was the point of the book where it was like a switch in my brain flipped and I was back in the game, excited about the story plot. I hated that it happened towards the end, which is why I don’t want to give it a full 5 star rating. It was the last 5-8 chapters of this book that had me in a CHOKEHOLD and at the EDGE OF MY SEAT as everything just took a turn. And now…I want more. You freaking got me Colleen Hoover, and now I’m buying more.
