This book has completely changed the way I cook and think about leftovers. Almost any ingredient you can think of can be found in this book. Things you might normally throw away can become part of an entirely new and satisfying meals, usually with just a few additional pantry ingredients. The ideas are simple, which is the beauty of it. Now I think twice before any food goes in the trash.

Just got this and can’t put it down!! It’s inspiring, poetic and hilarious! I went straight to my fridge looking for odds and ends in jars and can’t wait to put them all to use!

Tamar Adler is one if the few authors whose books I automatically order. I don’t know that this specific book would mean much if you haven’t read The Everlasting Meal on which it depends but if you haven’t, you should. Not so much a cookbook as a guide to living well.
