Editorial Reviews
STARRED REVIEW 'The close-knit family focuses here on lessons learned after the death of eight extended family members in less than two years, and, to that end, they share personal insights and scriptural examples of how to cling to hope in God in the midst of grief. [Dr. Tony] Evans's children celebrate their mother's legacy with fond recollections of family meals and celebrations, and explain that the book is the fulfillment of their mother's desire that they work together and combine the strengths of their individual ministries. Any Christian who has wrestled with loss will appreciate this message of hope.' -- Publishers Weekly

The book is amazing I am grateful for the Evans family, allowing themselves to open their lives too the world, in such heartache and pain. Sharing real life events that at some point touch all of us in one way or another. This book teaches us all how one should walk, how one should respond when God don't answer the way we think He should. God clearly says that His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts, but we still expect Him to do what we ask, like He is subject to us, sorry, the reality is God is sovereign and subject to no one. I believe this book would be a great study for believers and walk through all the scriptures, yes a group study, I will be doing that with this book.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. What I discovered was a family with such strong unbreakable faith. I would recommend this book to anyone who has suffered loss or anybody struggling with anything. For me there was clarity, hope and strength in their words. The great thing about books is that everyone has a different perspective of what they got out of the book. One of the main things that I got out of this book was how important my role as a momma and a wife is to my family. I also have a better understanding of how your faith can sustain you when your heart is breaking.

The book starts off talking about the family they lost and ends with talking about legacy. I love how it is broken up so that each individual was telling the stories from their point of views. The reader will feel as though they are sitting down in the Evans home, having coffee and listening into a family discussion. I love this quote from Dr. Tony Evans on page 154, “A high view of God says the crisis no longer has the last word. I cannot deny the circumstances, but I can refuse to give circumstances the final say.” This book is definitely a must read, not just for people who have followed the Evans family, but for anyone who has gone through difficult times and need to know that God is still there and that there is hope.

This is the perfect book to encourage you in the midst of grief and loss. I’ll be honest, your faith speaks volumes when you continue to live for and love the Lord when you’re going through the toughest seasons of your life and boy—the Evans family has been through it. But this book is evidence that this family practices what it preaches. God is with them. God is with us. Even in the valley. This book is proof of that. Get this book and be encouraged.

I love this family! Their ministries have been a huge blessing in my family's lives for years. I knew some of what was going on with them as they asked for prayer, but I had no idea the extent of their losses during this time. I cried right along with them as they shared their struggles in this book. Then I rejoiced right along with them in the forever faithfulness of our Almighty, Loving God. This is a must-read book for anyone, especially those who have ever suffered a loss or gone through very hard times.... which is all of us.
