"The first, and often most difficult, step toward practicing gratitude is just that―the practice. Getting into the habit. Sophia's book breaks down this barrier with a variety of short, easy, and thought-provoking prompts that encourage you to express and experience gratitude throughout every aspect of your life. Her inspiring affirmations immediately center you back into focusing on what is truly important to you. If you're looking to make a big change in your perspective with just 5 minutes a day, this is the perfect book for you." ―Marci Shimoff, #1 NY Times best-selling author of Happy for No Reason and Chicken Soup for The Woman's Soul

This book is simple, accessible, and beneficial to anyone's mental and emotional wellbeing. Dr. Godkin created a very accessible guide, if you will, that helps the reader be in the mental and emotional present and actively think about why they should be grateful. Each day starts with a positively affirming quote, which I have found sets the mental stage. Following the passage are four prompts, written in the first-person perspective. There is 'magic' (emotional, cognitive, and physiological ) for me in reading the prompt and writing my answer. The added benefit is that this book is a journal, so one can always return later and reread what they wrote, which could be helpful in a variety of situations. I look forward to more days of using this tool and would recommend to literally anyone.

I bought this book as a little pick-me-up for my wife during this pandemic and we've been more than happy with it. It's a great way to kick a crappy attitude and feel grateful for what life has provided. We love the book and doing the exercises together has improved our relationship and attitudes. We also really love the quotes! Great book.

I absolutely love this gratitude journal! I take it to work with me and start my day with it in the mornings before I start my workday. The quotes and brief exercises set my heart and brain and soul in the right place for the entire day ahead. I plan to buy this gratitude journal for my sisters and coworkers for Christmas this year.

I love gratitude journals and use them each morning. I am always looking for the next one to use. Came across this and seems like a perfect fit. The questions are deeper. BUT, after a week I realized the questions are kind of the same. No real variety. I’m disappointed in it. During my first week with the book I got excited about bought a bunch for friends for Christmas. Now I’m kind of embarrassed to give them this book. I do think it’s amazing to practice gratitude daily, and I will finish this book, but I won’t buy it again. Unless they change it and add variety to the questions.

I have been on the search for an easy and quick journal to help me during my nighttime routine to bring positive energy to the close of my day. I am a grad student, married with a BUSY four-year-old, life has ups and downs daily, but this journal takes only a few minutes out of my day to re-center my thoughts and focus on only the good. Sometimes we can all use some tips to see and appreciate all we have, from the simplest thought of thankfulness, to how much you treasure your loving best friends and supportive family. The prompts are straight-forward, thought provoking, and brings your attention to daily appreciation. It has been scientifically proven that when you go to sleep with a grateful heart, you sleep better and you wake up happier. I have recommended and even sent this journal to a few friends and family members. I highly recommend it for the busy person who still wants to have time to journal now and then.
